26 Get Ups, Positive #10

Today was a stinker of a day.  I'm going to tell you all of my troubles- and then tell you my 3 positives . . .
1. I woke up at 4am worrying about the research papers that were due for the juniors today.  I don't want anyone to not turn them in . . .
2. Then I fell back asleep at 5:15am- and decided I would skip my morning coffee routine.
3. Turns out without coffee . . . the morning is a dark place where sounds are super annoying (I mean- could my kids rattle that plastic bag any louder?!!!! and why are they so freaking happy?!!!!)
4. My back was . . . something.  On my way to first period something pinched my sciatic nerve and now I have that going on, until that something relaxes, which usually takes a few weeks.
5. In second period . . . the cap wasn't on my water bottle tight enough, and 1/2 the bottle leaked out all over the bottom of my school bag and now I have papers scattered all over my desk drying off.
6. I accidentally agreed to sell tickets at the baseball game tonight.

Clearly- I have big problems.  :-)
Here are the positives:
1. My first group was totally engaged and talkative while we discussed the main character and how he was a creepy old dude.
2. My second group walked in- looked at my haggard appearance and said, "Oh no!  We'd promise to not talk . . . but we probably can't do that."  It's true- they can't go without talking, but they noticed I was out of synch and that was sweet.
3. We got lunch at school- Moe's.  I LOVE this lunch.  I really dig a rice bowl, and the guacamole was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Plus I horded several dark chocolate fun size bars and put them in my desk drawer for an emergency.
4. One of the kids I woke up worrying over- turned his research paper in- on time.  Hallelujah! Amen!
5. The weather was delightful and the spectators were very pleasant- even though the ticket price was a bit more than usual since it was a conference tournament.
6. I love my co-teachers.  I don't know how people teach without a co-teacher.  Having another adult to look at, and chuckle with- or get the jokes that go straight over the kids heads (kids really do say the funniest things). . .  It must be so lonely to teach all by yourself.

So- even though my bag is wet . . . my attitude isn't.  These positives really are making a huge difference!!!! I'm so glad I am doing this!!!!  I hope y'all aren't getting bored.
