Oh- I See Now

My parents came up this weekend, to celebrate my birthday a little bit early.  They convinced me to go out to dinner with Doug- sans kids.  I'm down with that!  While we were gone eating dinner, "someone" got the great idea to hide the cake my mom made for me (I believe it was my mom's idea- but I cannot say for sure.  I feel sure the idea originated with my parents, but my children happily jumped in on the trickery).  Except, in all the excitement, the cake got dropped.  Face down.  Amazingly- it was still great, except for the top of the cake was missing the icing.  (You'll be happy to know it has not impacted the taste in the slightest.  It's still delicious!)

FYI- those candles show "29." I am going to be 29 . . . and I've celebrated that year a "few" times now.

Upon the cake tumbling- Alexa cried, and Andrew dove to the floor and started licking it off the floor!  My Mom & Dad laughed.

This brings me to a memory from college.  I went to a concert with friends: it was a mixed group of boys and girls.  It was either Lollapalooza- or something like it.  Anyway- at some point during the day, one of the boys started betting other attendees $20 that he would eat whatever food was thrown on the ground.  I mean- GROOSSSS!!!!

Andrew's going to be the fun friend in college.  😒
