WHHYYYYY???????

Please tell me that this is normal.  That my kids aren't the only kids in the world who do this.  IT DRIVES ME NUTS!!!!




Who put a random piece of a granola bar wrapper there?!  It's not even a convenient spot!!!  What about that spot says, "Here's a perfectly acceptable location to leave food wrappers?!!!"  Nothing.  Nothing about that spot suggests it's a good location for that. 

Was that Alexa's food trash??  I feel like no.  It's taller than her, so she would have had to reach to put it up there. Surely in the efforts to reach up- it would have occurred to her that that's not the spot to leave it.  Although- she eats those granola bars at home, and she is notorious for leaving food wrappers everywhere: in the couch, under the couch, on the counter, wherev.  Andrew would totally leave a piece of a wrapper in that spot, but he tends to eat those bars as a snack at school, so I can't say for sure it's him.  Neither have any knowledge of how that wrapper mysteriously got there.  They would never leave wrappers in a place like that!  Jeez, Mom! 

Either way- these dang kids are really impeding my house from being magazine ready!

Stomach Viruses Bring Out the Psycho In Me

Poor Andrew.  He has a stomach virus.  Woke me up at 3am to tell me he thought he might need to throw up.  Now the thing with Andrew is- there is NO warning.  Up until this time, he has always puked everywhere- but the toilet or bucket.  So when he told me he might puke at 3am, I whisper shouted, "GO TO THE TOILET!"  Then there was a lot of panicked breathing, writhing on the floor, and attempts at crying.  Suddenly, he looks at me and says, "Nope.  I'm good." and goes off to bed.  So . . . . I get back in bed.  My mind is racing.  I can't go back to sleep, but finally 45 minutes later I drift off, and back in he comes.  This time, instead of telling me, he turns on all the lights on his way to the toilet in my bathroom.  I get up with him, get him a cup of water, wipe off his face, provide the necessary cheerleading  (rubbing his back, and providing words of encouragement)  and as soon as he's finished, before h...

Let Me Count the 13 Ways . . .

Today is mine and Doug's 13th anniversary. As we were sitting at dinner I was thinking, "Man is this night a LOT different than this night 13 years ago." Here are 13 ways my life is different than 13 years ago. 1. My muscle tone- particularly around the midsection. 2.  My hair which has more grey, but yet it is still so much better!  ("wisdom" and vanity cause me to spend ridiculous amounts of money on hair products- more than I spend on clothes) 3. I fed a small person ravioli's, while they wiggled and jostled next to me in the booth, and dropped forks with spaghetti sauce on my pants- tonight. 4.  I am relearning elementary school math.  I think I've got the hang of fractions now. 5. I know Disney Channel characters.  I am able to tell what show either of my children is watching- from another room, just by the voices of the characters 6. My friends are now made at my kids extra curricular events, not at work, not at the gym, not doing a hobby....
