Back to the Old Grindstone
So tomorrow I am going back to work. Technically I don't actually have to go back until Wednesday, but since I did abolutely NOTHING over the summer to prepare for the school year- I better take 7 hours tomorrow to get myself prepared. I am pretty doggone certain that I am going to be HATING myself tomorrow at this time, when I am entering into freak out mode as I realize I have sooooo much to do, and wishing I hadn't been such a slacker over the summer. But anyway- since tomorrow marks the official end of my summer and the official beginning of my school year, here's a re-cap of our summer:
- About 30 trips to the waterpark
- ice cream/frozen yogurt trips
- hikes on Greenways
- trips to park
- trips to the library
- uncountable Super Friend comic, Junie B, and Magic Tree House reads
- lunch at Chick Fil A- a lot
- Riverbank Zoo
- 3 Children museums
- Folly Beach/Charleston
- N. Myrtle Beach
- Visit to Spartanburg, SC
- Visit to Burlington, NC
- Trip to Boone, NC- (Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, Tweetsie Railroad)
- Boar tour on Lake Keowee (South Carolina) and MacIntosh (North Carolina)
- I read about 15 books (and spent a lot more money on Kindle merchandise than I should have)
- According to Netflix, we’ve rented about 15 movies
- Andrew has watched un-countable hours of “Super Friends” episodes from back in the 1980’s
- We’ve gone to about 5 movies this summer
- We introduced Andrew to the Star Wars movies
- Lots of “Just Dance 2”, “Putt-Putt,” and Wii sports
- Ipad apps.
- Celebrated 3 birthdays
- Alexa learned to walk, say “uh oh,” and who knows what else!
- Andrew learned to: fix his own lunch, untie his shoes without melting down, operate the remote control to the tv
- Trip to Carowinds
- Who knows how many miles I logged running, taking kids for walks in the wagon or stroller
- Hanging out with friends
All in all, I'd say a very successful summer!!!!
