Time Just Flew By

Well so much for being on a blogging roll.  I was consistent for about a month, and then I fall off for a month.  While I wouldn't say I was busy in January- I did have stuff I was doing.  It's been a pleasant mix of grown people things, trying to get some consistency with healthy habits, and fun.

1. Grown People Things:  I cleaned out a bunch of old bills, and I started a notebook with important information in case something happens to myself or Doug.  Things in the notebook: the contact info for our finance guy, login information to different accounts/bills/bank, copies of: birth certificates, marriage certificate, social security cards.  This whole notebook thing started because my mom has been organizing all their stuff- in case something happens to them.  At first, I was like, "Mom!!! For Pete's Sake!!! I don't want to hear about it!"  But then . . . if something happens to Doug, I have no idea how to pay most of our bills. Doug is the bill payer.  I don't know what his username, password, or any of his security questions answers.  Would I be able to figure it out if I had to?  Sure- but dang what a pain in the rear- at a time when I wouldn't be mentally capable of dealing with it.  So- to make it easier for whoever needs it- whenever they need it- it's all in one area.

2. Consistency with healthy habits:  At the beginning of January, a friend posted that she was keeping herself accountable with Punch Card Goals.   I thought that looked so fun!!!  I totally jumped on the bandwagon.

The more yellow-ish cards are my January punch cards, and the more white cards are my February cards.  Don't fret- I have accomplished water drinking- I just haven't punched the hole to keep up with it.  These aren't my only goals- I have 5 for this month: swimming, daily walks, eating a veggie, no eating out Sunday- Wednesday . . . if I accomplish my February goals I will buy the book I am really wanting.  It's weird- but it is somewhat motivating and I am focused on specific goals instead of bouncing around or forgetting.

3.  Fun:  Oooh y'all I have jumped super into my embroidery habit.  I am somewhat obsessed with it.  It's exactly what I wanted!!!!  It occupies enough of my brain- I can sit on the couch and watch a movie or show and embroider. I look super nerdy- because I have my LED headlight on and I'm hand sewing.  So there are a lot of jokes about me doing my Granny Activities.

Clearly- I am only able to blog when I'm doing nothing else.  LOL

  1. The Best Gift you can give your children is the organization of personal information and estate. My mom refused my sister and me on that and said we could deal with it.
    Love the punch cards!
